Planting Hope serves communities in northern Nicaragua by supporting the La Chispa Library, enhancing educational opportunities, providing assistance for grassroots initiatives.

The library was constructed in 2001. Since then Planting Hope supporters have funded a second floor, a back yard patio, a handicapped entrance and a retaining wall.

Planting Hope promotes global understanding and fosters new friendships between Nicaraguans and U.S. citizens by organizing service-learning trips.
